Where heritage finds a way forward
A continuing effort to preserve the music, language and cultural memory of Jammu & Kashmir while creating opportunities for younger generations to discover, engage with and carry it forward.
Culture is not something to be preserved behind glass. It is something to be lived, shared and carried forward. The Foundation exists to give that conviction a structure — a place where traditional repertoire can be documented, where young voices can be trained, and where the work of artists and cultural practitioners can be recognised.

Celebration
Harmony India Awards
An annual platform celebrating artists, musicians and cultural practitioners whose creativity, dedication and work continue to enrich the cultural landscape of Jammu & Kashmir. The Awards began in 2014, the same year the Foundation was established, and have continued as its most public annual gathering.
The ninth edition was held in Kashmir. The tenth was held in Jammu in November 2024, and the eleventh in Jammu on 4 October 2025 at Abhinav Theatre. The twelfth edition is planned for 2026.
Young voices
Harmonies Choir of J&K
Founded and curated in 2018, the Harmonies Choir of Jammu & Kashmir brings young singers to traditional repertoire — learning it, performing it, and in doing so keeping it in circulation rather than in an archive.
The choir has performed nationally and internationally, and was invited by the Ministry of Culture to perform for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Foundation established
Harmony Cultural Foundation is founded by Saurabh Zadoo. The Harmony India Awards begin in the same year.
2018
Harmonies Choir of J&K
The choir is founded and curated, bringing young singers to traditional repertoire.
2021
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
The choir is invited by the Ministry of Culture to perform for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
2024
Tenth edition of the Awards
Held in Jammu in November 2024. The ninth edition was held in Kashmir.
2025
Eleventh edition of the Awards
Held in Jammu on 4 October 2025 at Abhinav Theatre.

The Foundation continues along the same three lines: preserving and promoting the music, arts and heritage of Jammu & Kashmir; documenting traditional compositions; and creating room for youth and emerging artists to perform, learn and be recognised.
