
OUR VISION
Established in the year 2014, Harmony Cultural Foundation is a non governmental organization, the first of its kind approach led with an Art, Culture and Equitable Development Initiative with it’s mantra of Love, Peace & Togetherness, to preserve, promote and propagate Art and Cultural activities with a focus on J&K state and across India. Since then, the foundation has been conducting Cultural Programs Musical workshops, Recording and Production of Music Albums, Patriotic Songs, Folk Music, Devotionals, Sufi Poetries with the involvement of upcoming talented generation and well known reputed artists of the country thereby bringing glory to the J&K’s Rich Tradition and Indian Culture.
With it’s inception in 2014, the foundation initiated Swach Bharat Abhiyan Song- Watan Ko Saaf Rakhna Hai, for the purpose of raising awareness and shedding light on an important social issue prompting people to act and contributed to keep the nation clean. In the steps to uplift and preserve kashmiri tradition, the foundation released musical album “Sant Mala” with 6 Songs based on the sufi saints of kashmir who have guided the world with their wisdom.
From little talents to the eminent artists of the country, the foundation in collaboration with the artists from J&K released National Integration Song- ‘Tarana-e-Watan’ in 2017, which carries a strong message and depicts the heritage of transforming India. The song was a tribute to Motherland India who has been the strength & powerful pillar for the people of the country. The song was later re-realeased by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages in Jammu.
As our Mahatma Gandhi has rightly said: where there is love, there is life- the foundation released an album in the year 2018 comprising of 8 eminent voices from Jammu & Kashmir which had a huge impact in uniting and showcasing the cultural spirit of J&K. While celebrating the spirit of oneness as a nation and a tribute to the Indian Army, the foundation presented Jan Gan Mann ‘National Anthem~A cappela Version in collaboration with 11 Eminent Artists from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, video of which was largely shared in groups and appreciated amongst the masses.
In the year 2019, the foundation produced and released a musical album ‘Aahee’, based on kashmiri marriage traditions, the poetry is a pure representation of kashmiri pandit’s culture depicting the ethos and grandeur of traditional rituals performed specially during the marriage time. As an important part of kashmir’s rich cultural legacy, the album was widely appreciated as an important preservation and work done by the foundation.
The foundation in times during Covid 19 pandemic, conducted and internationally collaborated with various artists from different places of the world and released a Sanskrit Prayer “ lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu ” on world music day and international yoga day.
Ample number of songs have been produced and released on the concept and positive message of Love & Peace, with one such in kashmiri language “Soun Wattan” (hamara wattan) by Dina Nath Nadim, featuring Indian Harmonies Choir Group of J&k formed in 2018 which consists of the upcoming talented generation Singers of J&K state. The song was released in the year 2020 and was later performed live by the choir group at the inaugural ceremony of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ahmedabad, in front of the honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Ever since it’s inception, the foundation has not only worked for the propagation of Art & Culture but has equally contributed to encourage & support people who have achieved and given back something to the society through their services. In their appreciation & honor, the foundation every year organizes ‘Harmony India Awards’ where the creative personalities, artists, musicians, writers, social activists ,theatre & visual artists, journalists are felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the growth and development of nation. Till now, the foundation has the honor to have felicitated more than 50 Awardees for their stellar contribution. Some of them includes includes- Dr. Meem Hai Zafar, Dr. Agnishekhar, Ashok Pandit, Late Dina Nath ‘Nadim’, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Krishen Langoo, Dr. Radhika Chopra, Dr. Azhar Hajini, Late P.N.Handoo, Late O N Kaul, Late P N Kaul ‘Sayil’, Singer Waheed Jeelani, Aditya Raj Kaul, Kiran Wattal, Akshay Labroo, Rahul Bhat, Veer Munshi, Kailash Mehra, Late Mohan Nirash.
With such exclusive and path breaking innovative works, the foundation has not only raised awareness and connoisseurs across the community and nation but has been upfront in meeting the cultural needs and bridge the gap through policies and programs that reduce disparities while fostering places that are vibrant.
